(source Nat Archives of Australia) enlisted NewcastleNSW, next of kin Mary Jane Adamthwaite. Service no 2860. Served in 46th battalion – was injured at Etaples and shipped to England, subsequently discharged as unfit and returned to Sydney in 1917  - see copies of records

Son of William Adamthwaite and Mary (Houghton) Born 1896 in Merewether, NSW, Australia, George died in 1927 as a result of his war wounds

 

 

Gordon Benjamin Adamthwaite

(source Nat Archives of Australia) service no 6216, enlisted 9 may1916 at Ballarat, Victoria, next of kin father Christopher Adamthwaite, born Waterloo, Vic – see service papers.  Served at Etaples, but was returned to England suffering from trench fever.

Born ~1894, son of Christopher and Emily (Newling), died 1946
